Planting Hollyhock Seeds...?

Question

As Hollyhocks reseed themselves can I harvest my neighbours seed pods and plant the seeds now in my garden? I live in N.Virginia. USA.

that's a how-to.... they will grow into plants first, then the second year, they will bloom.... they are 'biennials'.....if you ask the neighbor, perhaps they'll let you have seeds AND a couple of the first year plants so that some will bloom for you next year....you'll want to wait untill later in fall to move plants... and to be sure the seeds are viable.........
