Planting Hostas?

I planted hostas in different spots in a circle of Pines that i landscaped. When i dug holes i ran into to roots of the trees but i planted the hostas anyway. I applied a very thin layer of brown mulch to see if i would like it. I have now changed my mind to woodchips. Will my hosta's still make it?

  1. Your hostas will most likely be able to handle the change.  As long as your are keeping them well watered until they become well established they are tough and will handle the roots and the change in mulch/wood chips.

  2. Hostas are pretty much indestructible.I have around 50 Hostas in every possible kind of environment and they all do well.
