Planting carrots?

I want to plant some carrots and I went online to find out how and when. One website said that I should start planting them by mid-July, but another website said I should have planted them in early spring, after the frost left. Should I have planted them or can I start now? I really need to know!

  1. They prefer to grow in cooler weather so both answers are right. If you plant now, they will fatten up in the cooler fall weather. The number one thing you need for carrots is soft, sandy soil. They hate clay and rocks and will grow misshapen.

Plant the seed,  then thin them out to 2-3 inches apart. Don't let them get too crowded and don't try to transplant the seedlings - it doesn't work. The thinned baby carrots taste great.

  2. U CAN GROW THEM NOW JUST SPREAD THEM OUT STILL TIME TO GROW THEM
