  1. Through their stomata. Stomata is nothing but guards that control opening and closing of a cavity left after it .Through the cavity plants can exchange gases.They are deformed epidermal cells.Stomatal movements are conyrolled by hormones ,humidity etc.Besides lenticells also help in exchange.They are openings at the tip of some leaves.

    Also, lenticles. But plants do not open them. They are open throughout the plant life.

    Cuticle i.e. the waxy layer of the leaves also helps in the exchange but its not the case with opening and closing.
