Plasma 720 tv 1080 ?

hi just bought a 720 tv an on the box it says 1080 24p movies what does this mean ?

It means that your 720p TV can play movies that are encoded at 24 frames per second (the cinema standard). But of course, they'll still only be displayed at 720, just downsampled.

The difference between 720 and 1080 doesn't become noticeable until you get to 40 inch or larger displays, or you sit extremely close to the screen.
