Plasma burn in.?

My living room is kind of dark and I read a plasma would do better but I'm worry about the picture burning in. The kids use the DVR and sometimes paused their show for a long period of time, could that cause a burn in? Thanks.

  1. Burn-in still happens , but much more minimal.  All-in-All, its much better than LCD.

  2. TV's are a lot more advanced now than what they were 5-8 years ago and that won't happen with the plasma or LCD, but for your situation plasma would work best, everyone I have asked has told me for brighter rooms go LCD and darker rooms Plasma, and they do not burn out or burn to the screen

  3. Depending on how old your tv is you shouldn't really have to worry about burn in.  Plasmas from 5 years ago had that problem, plasmas now still have burn in but nowhere as close as the old ones.  Basically burn in occurs if you have one stable image that displays for a long period of time i.e. a display plasma on the same channel with the logo on the bottom will eventually burn in within a couple of years.  A couple of hours here and there won't hurt your t.v.  Just a little advice, LCD is cheaper than a plasma, it doesn't have glare issues and can be placed in any type of lighting.  Also it has a cleaner picture for gaming, and action movies.
