  1. here is a quick run down of the differences between the two sets

    Plasma:

-Have a higher contrast ratio( difference between black and white on the screen)

    -Cinema like natural color

-Deal with fast motion (like sports) very well

    -Lifespan up to 120,000 hours

    LCD:

-Plastic screen which results in less glare (better in a room with

    -lots of natural light)

    -Less energy consumption

-Better for everyday viewing in many rooms through out the house as they come in a larger variety of sizes

-Lifespan up to around 80,000 hours

    hope that helps!!!

  2. LCDs do tend to be more exspensive but burn in is STILL a problem with Plasmas. Plasma screens do have slightly better picture but LCDs have a wider viewing angle. I have a 1080p LCD tv and its awesome. You should definitely by LCD!

  3. Plasmas used to have to be regassed and image burn-in was a serious problem, but the newest plasma models for the most part have fixed these issues.  LCD's tend to be more expensive and the darkness levels are not as good as plasma tvs.  If you are mostly getting your tv to watch tv and movies mainly then you want to go plasma, if you want to play video games or watch something that has static images such as espn or a stock ticker you want to go LCD.
