Plasma problems

pioneer pdp433hde on powering up both the media box and screen leds turn green but then the screen led flashes a sequence of 5 flashes pauses then repeats the cycle. the media box led remains green so assume the fault lies with the screen. any help would be great. pioneer are no help in spite of us retailing their products. and having our own service dept. their solution is to sent the unit to one of their asc. trouble is that costs hundreds. one has to ask where is the backup from them seems to me, there is non.when i turn the power on the led light turns green for a half a second then it turns red and blinks 5 times over and over again. Can i personally fix it? If not how much will it cost to fix it?
