  1. Most plasma and LCD screens can be hung on the wall.

You will need to purchase a separate kit to actually mount the TV onto the wall.  These start at $100 and go up, depending on the features, or the size of the TV to be mounted.

LCD sets in the 30" range are around $1500, and 40" screens are, of course, a bit more than that.  I don't know about plasma now a days - most manufacturers have moved away from plasma.

Larger screens (50"+) can still be mounted on the wall, but due to their size and weight will require special mounts that aren't movable.  Mounts for smaller (30"-40") screens can be installed by you and a friend with a home drill and screwdriver within an hour.  Some mounts can also be angled or moved around, making them more flexible for viewing in different parts of the room and lighting situations.

  2. Really any flat screen tv sol can be hung on the wall.  you will need a mount though.  Average price,  Prob about 2,000 for a 50 inch.  Price will vary from brand to brand,  and also type lcd or plasma.

  3. Any LCD or plasma screen can be hung on the wall if you buy an appropriate wall mount with it.  It has to be hung appropriately so that it is secure.

Prices vary by size and of course by manufacturer.  Plasma tends to be a bit less expensive but they consume more energy so end up costing a bit more over time. (LCD is good in a room with a fair amount of light and plasma looks better in a dark room)

A 42" screen probably can be found for $1450-$1800 average. (estimating!)

http://www.squidoo.com/plasma-tv-care    This one talks about mounting a TV on the wall...but you can pay to have Best Buy or some of the other stores to do it for you.
