  1. Here are a couple other thoughts for you to consider.  Look into what plastic is made out of and how it breaks down slowly.  The sea life can ingest these particles and they can be eaten by bigger predators etc and pass those chemicals  along and maybe just maybe that animal lands on your dinner plate one day.  If it takes years to break down plastic what do you think will happen if these animals and the water over time?  If the water becomes contaminated then everything living in that environment gets contaminated.  That brings up a health issue, I'm sure you can find a cancer link from the make up of these containers because they are  indeed toxic chemicals.   There is also an economic issue w/ the garbage that ends up on beautiful beaches and seasides.  They suffer from lack of tourism and that means no money coming into their local economy.

  2. I recently read that in the Pacific Ocean there's this huge mass of plastic garbage floating around that's so big, you could fit a few small countries inside it.  The plastic is not degradable, so it just keeps growing and growing.
