I have a large cage roughly 100cm x 60cm x 40cm, but it only come with one wire level and ladder.

I know that wire isnt good for the feet, so I am looking for some plastic platforms I can put in, but cant find anywhere that sell just the platforms!

Im in australia, so aussie sites would be great but there isnt a big ferret following out here, so they are hard to find.

  1. Petsmart has some great selections! I would also try the wonderful world of the INTERNET!

  2. get some coroplast.

  3. plastic platforms are slippery and ferrets find it hard to negotiate. You can get one with wire platforms and simply put tube socks over them that's what I did before I got a custom ferret nation bedding set with ramp covers.

Here is a link for ferret nation cages I don't know if any of them ship to Australia.

Here is a link for a ferret kingdom (very similar to ferret nation including 4 stainless steel lock on bowls and 2 polar fleece hammocks as well)

To give you an idea of how nice this cage can look here is a link containing pictures of my ferret nation bedding set.

  4. I think making your own shelf to fit would be the best option. You could use perspex / acrylic or coroplast (I think its called corflute over there) which is lighter and cheaper. You could just make some holes in whatever you use and cable tie to the wire.

  5. make your own platform.  I made my own out of wood. Wood isnt the best but if you make it water proof, (with varnish, water based 2 coats, it will not harm your ferret), than its not bad too use.

    Good luck!
