Plastic bag recycling?!?

Question

how can i recycle these? Can I take the bags back to where i got them so they can reuse them? Would they do that? Llike take meijer bags back to meijer kroger bags back to kroger. etc. thanks everyone.

Recycle them by using them again when you go shopping, or line your waste paper basket with them at home!

You can recycle plastic bags and control the population by using these bags as children's toys.  Just give them to your kids to play with!  The bigger the better!

I've seen large boxes at walmart entrances that ask for plastic bags for recycling. It is non- specific but I have always assumed that it meant all plastic bags. Besides I always ase my bags for little garbage bags.

In Reno the local WARC thrift store takes plactic bag donations.  They are a non profit org. and are always in need of used plastic bags.

use 'em to pick up p**p.

problem solved.

always carry a few in your pocket.

that way you'll have one when you need it.

like when your buddy needs one to wrap a dirty diaper up.

what more could you ask.

also, at trader joes, if you use your own, you get entered into a raffle for .... (i've no idea).

Florida recycles them. The larger grocery chains have canisters set up outside for plastic bags, paper and styrofoam. If that doesn't happen where you are maybe try taking them to small locally owned shops who are always trying to save $$, also flea market vendors would use them.

I don't know if you are near a Walmart...but they recycle them. I take all my bags back to them. Our recycling box is located right at the front of the store. You could call and ask.

My grandmother used to make rugs by weaving old plastic bags.  They work well outside and last forever because they never biodegrade.

I use these grocery store plastic bags to give my patients any materials from our meetings.  I am a diabetes educator and often am giving patients "stuff" to take home so these come in handy and there are being recycled in the process

It should not be recycled. It is long process and also harmfull

Most plastic bags can't be recycled coz theyre made of thermosetting polymers (a bit of chemistry there for you) and the only way to be eco friendly with em is to reuse em yourself. I suppose you could try taking them back to the shop but theyll probs be a tad funny about it :P

Our Safeway store in Davis, CA collects used clean bags and I believe recycles them later. Check your local grocery stores to see if they do that.

This is an easy answer. If you continue to use plastic bags, you contribute to the need for plastic bags. Why not use a re-usable cotton fibre bag to carry items you have purchased?
