  1. Quite.  I saw an article in yesterdays Daily Mail newspaper.  Especially of the poor dead whale with all those bags in its stomach.  It makes me wonder what kind of idiots dump them on the beach.

The root cause of it all is laziness.  Not just the litter louts that dump them on the beach but the fact that we can't be bothered to take them back to the supermarket and re-use them a second time.  Its also the feeling of getting some thing for nothing.  Supermarkets are also willing to partake in giving them away for free because it's free advertising.

I suppose all the while governments don't tax the h**l out of them people will be willling to manufacture them and retailers will continue giving them away for free.

  2. how else would you get shopping home if we keep recycling them they arnt producing anymore just reproducing the old 1s i dont recycle them havent got time

  3. Heard an interesting debate on the radio today.  Can't remember all the facts, but apparently plastic carrier bags are a by-product of the oil industry.  Whatever they are made of would still have to be burned off if the bags were not made.  The problem is not necessarily the bags as such, more how people dispose of them - by throwing them away and letting them litter our countryside and towns.
