Question:

Plastic greenhouses?

Can any one tell me if they are any good for tomatoes as my father in law has one and his crop this year is poor. He has prepped everything correctly and has the same plants as his neighbour (glass house) who has a good crop. All the leaves on his plants have turned brown including the ones on the fruit. He is baffled as in previous years he produced good crops and hasnt done anything different. Help please!

  1. I've never been able to grow anything sucessfully in those plastic greenhouses. I grew my tomatoes outside this year on the table in grow bags and covered them in tomato bags until they got bigger. They are growing fine and fruiting now.

  2. I don't like the poly tunnel type of plastic greenhouse. They are difficult to ventilate properly. If you plant tomatoes in the same soil for several years (or plant them where you grew potatoes) they will suffer from TBMV a virus.
