Plastic piece to lower side rial broke

Question

The plastic piece to lower the side rail is broken off my crib and it seems to be the company is no longer in business and did not have replacement parts availible. I can not leave the side propped up all the time because i'm to short and can't leave it down because my son stands up in cri. What can I do?
