Has anyone heard anything about plastic surgery in Hungary?

You must go to a private clinic for the best care.

i had some laser surgery for cosmetic reason a few years back in Budapest. i went to a private clinic and had good results. It hurt more then I was told it would and it was allot more bandages then I was lead to believe. other then that, all said and done, they did a good job and the price was reasonable. this was 7 years ago and things have gotten very expensive here lately.

Are you planning on using a private clinic that specializes in plastic surgery?  Private clinics in Hungary are generally excellent in terms of equipment and care.  If you are planning on using the Hungarian socialized medical system or a public hospital, be very wary.  I am married to a Hungarian national and have had the opportunity to use the state health care there.  The facilities are clean and moderately equipped but the atmosphere, old buildings and huge waits for care are very post Communist.  I wouldn't expect anything more than simple reconstructive surgery after an accident from a public hospital.  That being said, there is a vast discrepancy between private clinics.  The most expensive or best advertised is not always the best in terms of care, so do your research and get connected with people that have had other medical care in Hungary.

Mmmm, have heard some bad reports about poor aftercare. Look into this carefully  before considering anything.

I know of someone who has some minor cosmetic surgery done at Larnaca hospital in Cyprus, for a fraction of the cost in the U.K. and was very pleased with the results, and with her treatment and afetrcare........might be worth looking into.
