    *Pros: extremely wide array of available plastics with characterists ranging from soft to brittle

    *Cons: most plastics have low resistance to heat, generally toxic when burned(Plastics do resist heat,but they don't conduct it. )

    *Temperature changes cause it to expand and contract more than metal.

    *All plastic pipe is affected by ultraviolet (UV) radiation to some degree.

  3. there are many different kinds of plastic, the chemical composition, molecular weight, surface treatment, etc all affect their properties.  plastic used in construction is usually made to be able to withstand high stress, and as such, are difficult to work with
