  1. Alfered Wegener noticed that the continents seemed to fit together like a puzzle, so he made a theory that all of the continents were once fused together in what he called "Pangaea". Then , he hypothesized that the continents broke apart and slowly went to their current positions.


  2. The concept of continental drift was first proposed by Alfred Wegener. In 1912 he noticed that the shapes of continents on either side of the Atlantic Ocean seem to fit together (for example, Africa and South America)
