Platform tennis vs. tennis question?

My mom is remodeling her house and is thinking about putting in a platform tennis court b/c we live in Montana and can't play ANY tennis in the winter(no indoor courts). So I was wondering, if she does put in a platform tennis court, and we all start playing, will it affect the way we play tennis? Like will we get better or worse at regular tennis? Does anyone have any idea?

  1. can you give us any more detail? "platform tennis court"?

do you have architectural drawings and specifications?

forget it...i get it now:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Platform_te...

all sport is good sport. it can only help. great for reflexes.

Just ask McEnroe who played a very good game of badmitton.

  2. If you keep up playing regular tennis whilst also playing platform tennis then you should be fine. However, if you do stop playing regular tennis altogether then obviously your game will be affected. You'll be used to hitting shots to fall in the smaller court, used to moving around only a small court etc.

It's obviously okay to not play regular tennis during the winter months when it's pretty much impossible but try and keep it up when you can so that your reflexes and movement isn't affected by playing a different style of tennis.

So as long as you keep up regular tennis as well, then you should be fine.
