has anyone actually bought and run the platinum gas saver?how many miles? over what time frame? did you see any mpg improvement? did it harm the engine? has anyone actually voided their warranty over this? someone somewhere bought them back in the 80's. is it the same product from back then? if it was of any value, where has it been hiding all these years? overall, did the actual user get his money's worth? the current price i was quoted over the phone is $150. for one, and $250. for two systems. has anyone been offered a different price? there is no price in the newspaper ad, nor on the website, that i saw. the rep said you HAVE TO call them for the price. hmmm. and, as near as i can tell, the last time that this thing was officially tested was back in the 80's. hmmm. thanks

  1. They will not void your warranty, and they do not do anything.

  2. It is a waste of money.

"Companies must register their products with the EPA to ensure that the additives or devices won’t harm engines or increase emissions, but that registration is not an endorsement of the products, Millett said.

The myriad devices on the market work in a variety of ways: bleeding air into the carburetor, heating the fuel, enhancing the vaporization of the air-fuel mixture, to name a few. In 2005, Consumer Reports tested three products – Tornado, Fuel Genie and Platinum Gas Saver, with prices ranging from $70 to $119 a pop – and found that none of them enhanced fuel economy significantly."

“The EPA recommends strong skepticism for consumers, because in our experience these things just don’t work,” Millett said. “If they worked, cars would be built that way anyway.”

  3. My cousin and I bought a set of the plugs you refer to in the 80's and tried them. we were using them on our motor cycles, street bikes, we found a set of NGK plugs ran just as well, no milage difference or power difference. be awaire though what the companys do is they test them on a dyno and if they should gain 1/2 horse power they say more power. you would never feel this but its number was there. the real point would be if you have an engine that is not burning the fuel fully the hotter spark would maybe creat more power and this would be milage. most cars computer dont allow much excess fuel un burned.

  4. Don't waste your money.
