Platinum ogon koi?

Okay, I went to walmart after going to the pet store because they didn't have a great selection of fish. But sadly the people at walmart didn't know anything about fish, and i got one anyway. There was a really pretty fish, and i had no idea what it was and they told me that it was a silver goldfish, it looked nothing like that but i got it anyway. i have been loking it up on the internet and i have found out that it is a platinum ogon koi. I have no idea what to do with it because they can get very large and its currently in a 5 gallon tank by itself. I am not exactly sure what to do with it? I tried feeding it goldfish flakes but it doesn't eat thoes so i have been feeding it tropical fish tablets. Do you know if there are any places that have ponds that will take fish? and any information about this fish would be helpful! Thanks in advance.

koi can grow up to 3 feet.u NEED a pond or giant aquarium.

koi will adjust its growth according to the tank size.  You can still enjoy koi indoors so it will not grow fast.  koi will eat anything.  Since its new it needs time to recondition just add rocksalt with good aeration stop feeding for 3 days upon purchase.

It needs to be in a pond.  This is what I would do.  Go to the pet section on Craigslist.com.  Just state that you bought a fish that you were unsure of, and found out it was a Koi.  Say that you found out how big this fish will get and ask if anyone in your area with a large enough pond would have room for your fish  Just say that the adoption fee is the price ot the fish that you paid for it.  You'll be surprised how many people out there have ponds and will be willing to give it a suitable home.  I have a HUGE pond, but I'm pretty sure that you don't live close to me.  Good luck.
