Manchester City’s assistant manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jack-Rodwell-c17462 this coming seasons and sees the midfielder becoming a major part of the City squad.
City went on to secure the signing of Rodwell from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 this past Sunday, in a move that is believed to sum up to around twenty million pounds.
The team is believed to have paid an initial fee of around fifteen million pounds for Rodwell, with the fee rising to around twenty million based on incentives.
England’s manager, Roy Hodgson went on to admit his concerns over the transfer recently. He stated that the youngster might have made a poor decision in moving to the Eastlands, as it could halt his progress and development as a player.
However, Platt seems to disagree with the Three Lions boss and thinks that Rodwell has just what it takes to excel at City.
When talking about Rodwell, the City assistant manager is reported to have said: "Everyone has known about Jack for a long period of time. The longer you keep looking at a player, people will tend to find the flaws and the weaknesses.”
"I think he has very good potential and is already a good player now. We feel we have the right platform here to develop his potential to the full. We've had an opportunity to take a player who we believe will be of benefit to us not only now, but in the future.”
"The boy has good ability with both feet, and a good tactical brain.”
"When he first burst onto the scene, people said he had bags of potential. I don't think he has quite realised that potential yet."
Given the fact that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Barry-c14423 is yet to recover from his stomach injury, it is safe to assume that Rodwell will be used in place of the midfielder.
Should the youngster go on and seize this opportunity, he could easily establish himself into the City squad and hence secure a spot in the starting eleven. If he fails to earn a spot in the starting eleven, he could easily move up the pecking order.
