Ok so have this platy his name is Shark and he is constantly chasing away the Mickey Mouse platies every time he sees one then he just goes back to his mate Sunny and I don't want the pregnant female Mickey Mouse Platies to be stressed out I don't know how to stop this but I am pretty sure this has to do with territory or dominance since he was the first platy their but please tell me how to stop this and no silly answers.

  1. well...

    1) you can either take everything out of your tank and move it around to make them have to recreate territories. (this didn't work for my aggressive danio)

    or

    2) you can separate the fish into different tanks

    or

    3) you can give the aggressive fish away.

  2. Tank divider sounds good or you should replace the male with a similar breeding one so It is not territorial.

  3. Bullies will remain bullies. You might want to isolate the pregnant mm platies until they give birth. Then before you introduce them back to the main tank, take the bully out. Let the mm platies get used to life back in the main tank and regain their weight before introducing the bully a couple of days later. He may get back to his bullying ways but the mm platies won't be as stressed since they are not pregnant and are used to the tank by then. Platies rarely injure other platies, mostly just boss around.  Hope this helps.
