I have a 30 gallon tank with 2 sword tails, 3 mollies and I had 3 platys. I check my water and do partial water changes.....my levels are fine and my tank is clean. All my fish are doing great except my platys. I had one die 3 weeks ago it was fine one day and then the next it was swimming sideways and then just died over night. Now I have another platy that has been hiding and not eatting (although he ate a small bit last night) he seems to be getting smaller and losing some of his bright colours (sunset platy) and now it appears his body is bent (a slight c shape) He has no marking..no sores....can not see any bugs.....What could this be?

  1. How is it's poo? It really does sound like internal parasites. I had my last standard orange platty die of the same thing recently. No matter what I did including treating with broad spectrum antibiotics helped her at all.

Personally if you can,  I would put her in a QT tank. The less she can contaminate your big tank the better for your other fish.

  2. You best bet is to look online and see if ther are any desiease that cause wat you see.
