I want to buy my son a PSP for Xmas, bearing in mind, I know my children's capabilities and they have never broken any toys. He is 7 years old. Is he too young, or can he handle it?

  1. he can handle it

  2. psp is a great system you can practically do anything on it watch movies, music, download free games, internet, etc. but since your child is 7 i dont think he will understand to do all thoes things.maybe when hes a little older but my opinion is to buy him a game cube because its cheap and its much better than a ds.

  3. the problem here lies whether you will get good value back. giving a child a psp doesnt do any good if he cant understand and play the games. the psp is more suited for teens while the DS is more for kids because of cartoony kiddy games like mario. so i would suggest the DS instead for your 7 yr old and it is cheaper as well. also you should look into getting an R4 for the DS so you dont have to keep buying games, you can just download them for free.

  4. Well, the PSP is definitely not as rugged as the DS, but it's not like it's going to break if he breaths on it wrong either. If he's good about taking care of his stuff then he should be fine. Get a screen protector to keep it from getting scratched, and a small case that would fit the system and a game or two to protect it when he's not playing, and I think he'll be fine. Just make sure you go over how to take care of it and all that fun stuff when you give it to him.

  5. he can handle it i mean never broken toys that is hard to not do

  6. well, for a 7-year old child I'd advise Nintendo DualScreen (also known as Nintendo DS) that's becuase the DS has more childish games like Pokémon, super mario, etc... while PSP has games rated as Mature content, Explicit content, etc... 13+, well I'm 16 now and I started liking PSP, I'mma buy one now, but I can't imagine a 7year-old child using Wi-Fi, well u can mod the PSP, and the UMD-s are expensive too, that's media for the PSP. I can't imagine a 7year old child making a Pandora Battery, a Magic Memory Stick, and installing Despertar Del Cementerio on it, (but those don't matter right now :-)  ) so what's the answer, for a 7year old child, I'd recommend DS, as I rate PSP as a 13+ device. hope this answer helps with your choice ;)

  7. I think the DS would be more suited for a younger since there are many child friendly titles on it but you should look into it more just to make sure
