Play date for my son??

My son is 1 and a half and i wanted to make some kind of play dates at the local park. I live in a small town so i dont see this as being a security issue, but i just dont know how to go about doing it without ppl getting weirded out.

just go to the park and spark up a convo with another mommy. you both have kids so you'll have something ot takl about.

btw...you kid is soo cute!

Just tell a couple of your friends with kids and then tell them to pass the word around that everyone is invited.

Try meetup.com and see if there are any playdate groups in your area.  Just type in your zip code and you might find some already in place.

Put an ad in your local paper, find other moms at the library in the kids' section, at a gymboree class, etc. and let them know you'd like to do a playdate every month or every other week or something. Post ads on local bulletin boards at churches, community centers, the grocery store, the library, etc. "Mommy of an 18 mo old looking to start a local playgroup with children of all ages. Please call X at _____. We would love to play with you soon!
