DJ's are so expensive. I'm really considering playing music from my ipod like a lot of people suggest. BUT, has anyone actually done it? Have you been to a wedding thats done it? Does everything go smoothly? Is it there an awkward part when the songs are finishing cuz like the music slows down a lot (since thats usually where the DJ cuts to the next song)?

  1. well if you are going to play songs from your IPod, choose the songs wisely. If I were you, transfer the songs that you want to play at the wedding fro your IPod to a blank CD

  2. We're having a friend with a CD player and a backup iPod (just in case) doing the music. He's going to rent speakers from Long and McQuade and take care of burning all the songs for us.

I believe that an AVLA license lets you play any music you want, even if you don't own it, even in the States. http://www.avla2007.ca/public/docs/music...

  3. bad idea... went to a wedding that did that, you cannot keep the people on the dance floor, you cannot change up the songs instantly, when there is a break in the music people go sit down. DJ's keep the party moving... announce the evenings events etc... if you get a good one. Unless you have HUGE speakers know one will hear the music. Shop around, you can get good dj's for about $250+ go to www.partypop.com

  4. my brother did that for his wedding it was great it felt like if he really had a dj lol  just do a playlist of the music you want to play and just go from their good luck

  5. yep u can do this well

first mix the songs on ur ipod so there isnt that break get kick *** speakers and wen u send out the invitations aske everyone to rsvp with a song they want to hear at the wedding alternate these though ur own faves and people will be up all night

i did this for a party it rocked
