PlayStation 3 version of Mass Effect Trilogy to release on December 4
The PlayStation 3 enthusiasts have been dwelling in suspense associated with the release date of Mass Effect Trilogy for quite some time now.
As per the reports, the Sony version of the sci-fi role-playing third-person shooter is due to come out on December 4, 2012.
The release is bound to make the upcoming holiday season really special for the PlayStation 3 loyalists, who will be getting the opportunity to take control of Commander Shepard for the first time as he explores the universes.
Developed by BioWare, the popular franchise had stayed away from Sony’s current-generation console as one of the two publishers is Microsoft.
However, with the trilogy telling the tale of Commander Shepard wrapping up with the third instalment in the game earlier this year, it seems that EA and Microsoft have decided to relax the restriction and release the game for the primary competitor of Xbox
360.
The Mass Effect Trilogy will include all three games of the original series, along with the various downloadable contents (DLCs) that were released for them.
The external producer for the Mass Effect Trilogy Ryan Warden revealed the details of the DLCs that will be making their way to the Sony console as part of the three-in-one pack next month.
“The PlayStation 3 version of Mass Effect Trilogy will have the original Mass Effect with Bring Down the Sky integrated into the game, both on-disc and on the PSN download. Mass Effect 2 will still have the same DLC on-disc that it was originally shipped
with: Cerberus Network; Kasumi; Overlord; and Lair of the Shadow Broker. Finally, Mass Effect 3 will also be exactly as it originally shipped,” said Warden.
Even though the original storyline of Mass Effect featuring the tale of Commander Shepard has been brought to its completion earlier this year, BioWare has confirmed that the franchise is far from over yet, hinting that the work on the fourth title is already
underway.
There is still plenty of reason for the Xbox 360, PC and PlayStation enthusiasts to get their hands on the attractive Mass Effect Trilogy pack since the third and final title in the trilogy still have plenty of DLCs in the pipeline.
