PlayStation 3 will get Syphon Filter 4 in 2012?
Italians are known for many things ranging from football and the millions of passionate fans for the sport, who sometimes go over the line with their emotions, to the beautiful city of Rome, and from Pasta and Pizza to Syphon Filter.
While it may be hard to put Syphon Filter, one of PlayStations most loved franchises, in the same bracket as Italy; one should know that in the world of video games, nothing is impossible. In fact, it was the Italian PlayStation magazine that sparked the
rumour which has gamers nostalgic for a taste of the no holding back Gabriel Logan and the scrumptious, Lian Xing.
According to the publication, “Syphon Filter 4 is slowly gearing up for a release on the PS3 (PlayStation 3).”
While that bit of news was vague enough as it is, it was brought down by a second statement which read, “Expect a launch for Winter 2012.”
Bettor.com reported on a similar rumour earlier on, but the sparse detail in this one, following the original rumour, may just mean that there is some truth behind the story. Apparently, the game will continue where Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow left off.
After its release on consoles, the series moved on to the portable platform where both Logan’s Shadow and Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror went on to become the platform’s best selling games.
So, the fact that the fourth console instalment in the series might continue the story seems a logical step. The publication did not stop bombarding the world with information there as they went as far as stating that Sony Computer Entertainment Europe’s
London Studio would be the developer behind the project.
So far, the news is a rumour but the bits and snippets all seem to add up and make a very convincing level of sense. However, without any official comment from anyone on Syphon Filter 4, one should not get their hopes too high.
Bettor.com will break any and all Syphon Filter news as and when it happens.
