Nathan Drake, Big Daddy and Kratos all set to appear in Sony’s latest party brawler title. The game is also set to feature cross compatibility between the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.
Sony’s Press Conference was one of the highlights of E3 this year, which although impressive was not too difficult to achieve as anything that followed the woeful Microsoft Press Conference was set to be a highlight.
A number of announcements were made with regards to new releases, new technology such as Wonderbook, as well as a number of live demos. One such title that showed off a new feature that Sony is set to concentrate on in the future is cross compatibility.
The feature will allow PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita users to interact in a number of ways, including transferring game saves on to the Vita and continuing the game there as well as the ability to use the Vita to play against players using a PlayStation
3.
One game that demonstrated this ability was PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, which saw a live demo pit four players go head-to-head against each other with two players using a PlayStation Vita and two players using a PlayStation 3 controller.
It was just before the live demo that the announcement was made that the game would be released on the PlayStation Vita as well.
A number of characters have been confirmed to appear in the game including Sly the Raccoon, Sweet Tooth from the Twisted Metal series, Kratos from God of War, Fat Princess and Colonel Radec from Killzone 2.
However, at the end of the live demo two new characters were also revealed. Those wondering where Uncharted’s Nathan Drake had gone need wonder no more as the wise cracking character was revealed to feature in the game alongside Big Daddy from BioShock.
The latter came as a bit of a surprise, however, fans are still wondering if any characters from the Resistance or Metal Gear Solid series will feature in the game. Sony did tease a number of announcements regarding the game in the future and it would not
come as a surprise if the a majority of those announcements regarded new characters.
