Played selected as all star but gets traded before all star game... what team does he play for?

does he still play for the al?

  1. I think that he'd play, probably not start for which ever league he was traded into, so if he got traded into the NL, he'd be a sub for that team.

  3. It happened to Carlos Beltran in 2004.  He was named as a sub for the AL team but got traded to the Astros before the game.  He was replaced on the AL team and initially was not on the NL squad.  He was named as a replacement for Ken Griffey Jr. so he did play for the NL team.

  4. He would not play for the AL, he would not be automatically placed on the NL squad, he could be placed on the NL roster possibly as a sub. though.
