Player Ratings: Arsenal vs AC Milan – Part 3
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Oxlade-Chamberlain: Prior to the game taking place, there were a lot of doubts regarding the fitness of the youngster, who seemed to be suffering with a minor flu. However, following the conclusion of the game, just about everyone was glad that the
former Southampton player managed to make it into the starting eleven. Chamberlain was quite simply outstanding in the game against Milan. Not only did he set up the first goal for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 via a corner, but he also went on to produce a brilliant mazy run into
the box, which helped the team secure a penalty kick. Apart from those two incidents, his pace and energy helped the team steam their way past Milan, who just didn’t have a response for the youngsters energy, pace and will to conquer. Despite being a natural
winger, he adapted to the role in the middle of the park brilliantly and didn’t skip a beat. His importance to the team was evident, as when he was taken off in the second half, the Gunners seemed to slow down and tire in the middle of the park. All in all,
Chamberlain is bound to have a massive future at the Emirates in the future.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-Song-c4804: Time and time again, Song has gone on to play the less flashy role in the midfield, which has gone on to contribute to the team’s success once again. The midfielder played the role of the play breaker and that is just what he did. His energy and
presence helped the Gunners control the midfield, as he broke down countless AC Milan attacks, while helping set up Arsenal on the counter. What was quite notable, was the calmness with which the midfielder carried himself out. Some might consider it complacency,
but the fact that everything the player did ended up working, proves that he knows just what he is doing. However, Song did try to play the Hollywood pass far too many times when there were much better options available elsewhere on the pitch. Should he contain
his urge to play that defence splitting pass all the time, he could develop into one of the best midfielders around.
