in the two chukkas of play, 12-2. The Heathcote line-up dominated the play for the most part in the first half, the foursome which was predicted to win the encounter.
Below are the player ratings of the quarter-final fixture of the Monty Waterbury Polo Cup.
Heathcote
Tommy Biddle: 9/10
He was the most superb player on the field in the quarter-final fixture and played vital role in the triumph. His performance not only in the current match but in the entire tournament will leave long lasting impacts on the Heathcote fans and supporters.
He was at his best and notched eight impressive goals in the crucial win. His speed, deception and stick work was that of a world’s best polo pro. He eased the work of the judges to declare him Man-of-the-Match.
Naco Taverna: 7/10
The Number three player rendered one of the best performances in the season and notched three goals in the quarter-final fixture. He was quite impressive not only in the offence but on defence as well. His lengthy rides and pace to hold the ball was outstanding.
He not only contested the game with full enthusiasm but also brought his team-mates into the action.
Nick Manifold: 7.5/10
Manifold was also at his best and added three goals in the victory. He changed his positions in order to ease himself and succeeded to deliver results at the Number two position. His penalty conversions were a work of art which enchanted the spectators tremendously.
He did not allow the opponent defenders to meet his speed while attacking the goal.
Steve Lefkowitz: 5/10
Lefkowitz looked to be developing a very impressive game strategy along with Taverna and Manifold. He dominated the defence line and ran the show for Heathcote. Though he could not add a goal in the victory, his defence played vital role in booking a place
in the semi-final round. His passing and dodging attackers from opponent team was crisp again, which paid them off in the form of a five-goal victory.
Yellow Cab
Michel Dorignac: 7.5/10
It was one of the rare starts from Yellow Cab in which Dorignac delivered results. He got himself into the weighing up after displaying wonderful performances in the six-chukka of play. He did not make things overcomplicate and added six goals in the loss.
He notched the goals from the field as well from the penalty conversions. Dorignac comfortably picked up the ball on many occasions and lit the lamp for Yellow Cup. He was only active striker that was the main reason behind the downfall of the foursome.
Luis Escobar: 6/10
As usual Escobar showed outstanding performance and accounted for three goals in the quarter-final encounter. He not only carried out plenty of attacks and created chances for the front runner but blocked the attack on many occasions. Apart from some missing
chances at the defence, he played a reasonable game.
Jeffrey Garber: 5.5/10
The Number three though scored two goals in the loss, but failed to block the ball on many occasions. It was an inexperienced game from Garber at the defensive point of view.
Nacho Figueras: 4/10
Similar to other team-mates, Figueras did nothing to earn victory for Yellow Cab. He played the game at the crucial defensive position but could not do anything except scoring a goal.
