http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pepe-Reina-c29672: Had a very solid game, didn’t really need to do much to prove his worth and wasn’t tested often. However, couldn’t do anything to deny Sunderland’s goal.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-Agger-c9884: Had a very calm and composed game. Made his presence at the back be felt on a number of occasions and made some decent interceptions. His passing was also quite solid.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jamie-Carragher-c17728: Made a number of educated tackles and professional fouls. However, could have seriously injured Gyan with a late lunge.
Jose Enrique: Had an impressive debut for Liverpool. Got forward often and defended pretty well as well. Didn’t give the Sunderland wingers any breathing space at all.
John Flanagan: Probably the worst player on the pitch. Got put under pressure often and was hugely responsible for the Sunderland equalizer being scored.
Charlie Adam: He was a force in the middle of the park for Liverpool. Controlled the flow of play and made some killer passes. It was his set piece’s that caused the most danger and led to the opening goal of the game.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lucas-c22528: Seems to have come a long way from being the over hyped player that he once was. Was solid during the game, showed energy and pace.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Stewart-Downing-c34221: injected a sense of creativity into the Liverpool squad. Was a threat down the flanks and always threatened when he got forward.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jordan-Henderson-c19102: He was fairly decent, didn’t do much to prove his worth, but is going to develop more from here on.
Luis Suarez: Missed a penalty and scored with a header. Had a mixed game, but was effective.
Andy Carroll: Missed far too many headers, but was a serious threat, every time he got forward.
