Bettor.com rates the Red Devils who failed to emerge with three points during a drab affair at Carrow Road on Saturday.
Manchester United:
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Anders-Lindegaard-c5553: 6.5/10
The Danish shot stopper was far from his best and some of his nervous moments could have resulted in more dire consequences for the visitors. However, he could do nothing to stop Norwich taking the lead, albeit with this kind of performance, he is unlikely
to do himself any favours.
Rafael: 6.5/10
Rafael may have showed terrific form leading up to the game, but he struggled in Norfolk and was easily beaten by Javier Garrido on more than one occasion. His lack of defensive solidarity contributed to the opening goal, as he was ousted by his marker to
deliver in the killer cross.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Patrice-Evra-c29231: 6.5/10
Like most United players, he struggled to create anything of note during the ninety minutes. And in a bid to get the winner, Evra ventured forward far too much and left Ferdinand for dead at the back many times.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rio-Ferdinand-c31173: 7/10
Tried to use his experience to control Norwich’s pacy attack, but with his ageing limbs, he was easily beaten to the ball. Could have conceded another goal late in the game, as the hosts got into a one-on-one situation just before injury time.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chris-c9006 Smalling: 7.5/10
Was United’s best performer in defence, as he managed to keep Hoolahan and Holt at bay. However, he was let down by his teammates, who undid most of his good work in the backline.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Antonio-Valencia-c6345: 5.5/10
The Ecuadorian is usually so reliable when going forward but seemed to have an off day against the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Canaries-c38723, as he did not curl in crosses or create any opportunities from the flank.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ryan-Giggs-c31985: 7/10
The evergreen Welshman may not have his searing pace anymore, but still made good use of his time on the ball by picking out his teammates. Setup United’s golden chance by playing an intelligent ball to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 over the Norwich backline in the first
half.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Carrick-c25282: 7/10
Did his http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 professionally and controlled passing in the middle of the park. However, he wasn’t able to put in a creative shift that ultimately cost his side three points.
Ashley Young: 6.5/10
A disappointment on the wing, Young, was far too slow in making his decisions and never really put in a quality performance against Norwich. Will be regretting that missed chance early in the game.
Javier Hernandez: 6.5/10
Was completely subdued by Norwich’s defence during the time he as on the field but could not be blamed as he was starved of any quality chances.
Robin Van Persie:
Handed the gauntlet in Rooney’s absence, the Dutchman failed to trouble his opposing defenders and wasted Giggs’ pass by going for the spectacular during the opening 45 minutes.
Substitutes:
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Anderson-c5565: N/A
Was sent on late in the game for Ferdinand to grind out a result, but never really had the time to make an impact for his employers.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-Scholes-c29394: 7.5/10
Opened up more space for United with some quality balls throughout the field, but wasn’t able to provide that lethal through ball to the front-line.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danny-Welbeck-c10233: 7.5/10
Was United’s best attacker after coming on and tried his best to get the equalizer, but his efforts were thwarted by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/John-Ruddy-c18892, whose sensational shot stopping robbed the Reds of another comeback.
