Bettor.com rates the Royals, who managed to get their first win after an inspired outing from Adam Le Fondre.
Reading:
Adam Federici: 7/10
The goalkeeper was in good form as he saved Jagielka’s effort early on. However, he was guilty of not commanding his penalty box with authority and some lackluster catching could have also cost him.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chris-c9006 Gunter: 5/10
Was the main guilty party after accidentally placing Naismith’s effort right on a plate for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019. His below-par display was a major liability in defence and could have cost Reading a whole lot more.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nicky-Shorey-c27735: 7/10
Defensively struggling, Shorey handed Jelavic a great chance to score but luckily the Croatian failed to capitalize. However, his attacking instincts were strong and his set piece delivery in particular was top class throughout.
Sean Morrison: 6.5/10
Morrison had a mixed outing, as he was the main culprit when Everton managed to notch the opening goal. However, he improved late on and showed his quality by putting in some quality challenges in the second half.
Kaspars Gorkss: 4.5/10
Was below Premier League quality and struggled to adapt against the likes of Fellaini and Jelavic. Was lucky not to have gifted the Toffees more chances to score and with a display like this, he is unlikely to be given a starting role anytime soon.
Mikele Leigertwood: 6.5/10
Tried in the middle of the park, he failed to deceive most of the time and was very wasteful when it came to passing. However, he will be pleased with the defensive side of his game after putting in robust tackles to stop his markers.
Jobi McAnuff: 6.5/10
Starved of ball possession, he never had the chance to make impact on the game, however tried is best and tracked back thoroughly during the match.
Jay Tabb: 7/10
In the matchup against Fellaini, he clearly looked out of his depth. But he more than made up for that by a goal line clearance and also won the free kick that ultimately resulted in a goal for Reading.
Hal Robson-Kanu: 6.5/10
Like most of Reading’s midfielders, never had time or space on the ball and therefore was ineffective.
Adam Le Fondre: 8/10
The striker wasted a couple of chances to enhance the scoreline but his match winning brace made him standout amongst his ordinary teammates. Initially put his shot wide but managed to recover quite well and took his header emphatically. Showed nerves of
steel to dispatch a late penalty that helped his side claim all three points in a shocking result for the visitors.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jason-Roberts-c17973: 6.5/10
Was rather outshined by his fellow forward, who produced all the right goods when called upon. However, he held the ball up well and allowed Le Fondre to lead the line. With his quality, needs to improve so that Reading have a fighting chance of staying
in the English Premier League.
Substitutes:
Noel Hunt: N/A
Came on as a late substitute for Le Fondre but was not given enough time to register anything notable.
