Player profile: Cesc Fabregas
Cesc Fabregas emerged from the Barcelona canter, along with Lionel Messi and Gerard Pique. But in reality it was only under the guidance of Arsene Wenger at Arsenal that he has develop into one of world football's
most adored players. The player being a former Barcelona player has been largely pursued by Barcelona, to return to Spain. However the player committed his future to Arsenal to prove to the team that he was their captain and didn't concern himself with the
off field antics of other teams.
The 23-year-old is a superb passer of the ball on the ground, possessor of impeccable vision and tactics to lead and create plays along the pace and tempo of Fabregas proves him as a true game winner. Possessing strong character and intellect
to complement his technical pace and becoming more powerful on front of goal, Fabregas is an all rounded player.
His highest achievement is thrusting the ball through for Andres Iniesta to score the winning goal in the World Cup final in 2010.
An FA Cup final conquest in 2005 sideways, Fabregas could have been famished of silverware in North London but he is already regarded as one of the club's modern-day achievers and has collected well over 200 appearances. The 2007-08 Young
Player of the Year, Fabregas was set up as Arsenal captain in November 2008 and has flourished in Arsenal's free-flowing arrangement as its original lynchpin.
Unlike the above mentioned Fabregas left his place of birth club Barcelona at the age of just 16 joining Arsenal in 2003. This was to try his luck and was nothing less than a gamble that luckily paid off very fast.
After the club had became victorious in 2003-04, Wenger could not let it go without noticing the fabulous talents of Fabregas and his stunning emergence the following season. All this and fate persuaded his manager to advertise Captain
Patrick Vieira, such to have faith in the Spaniard who took the famous number four shirt.
Usually he is principally flawless but a lack of real pace is noticeable from Fabregas and that cannot be ignored. But his pace and moves let one negative point be ignored as his charm and game highlight his worth on the ground.
This season has been no different for the player, he made a late come back after returning from the World Cup, but has been back to his best ever since. His best display so far came against Braga, where he had a four star performance.
He scored two goals and set up another two. The following weekend however, he managed to pick up a hamstring injury against Sunderland.
Ever since returning from his injury, Fabregas has been in sublime form. The player has been back to his very best and seems to finally be back to having fun on the pitch. Fabregas however managed to have what seems to be the only bad
game of his Arsenal career against Newcastle, as a direct result Arsenal went on to lose that game by one goal to nil. Nonetheless Fabregas being the skipper of the team managed to recover from that one bad game and went on to help Arsenal win the two successive
matches against Wolves and Everton. Fabregas even managed to score a brilliant half volley in the game against Everton and was over all quite possibly the best player on the pitch.
It is still astonishing that the player is only in his mid twenties and still has a handful of years left ahead of him.
