John Terry- 7:
The Resilient defender had an excellent game till he was caught napping soon after he had scored. He scored the third goal for Chelsea with a nice driven shot. The Aston Villa defender could not clear the ball convincingly. The ball landed near the dangerous
Terry, who scored between a puzzle of players. Terry is normally calm on the pitch; however, last night he got a yellow card in 76th minute.
Michael Essien-7:
Essien was the main power house in the first half, commanding the possession and the ball. Essien had a mix game. He played pretty well; however, he was the player to give away a penalty. In the later stages of the match he dispossessed Albrighton and set
up the captain to score for Chelsea.
Frank Lampard- 7.5:
It was his third game after recovering from injury and scored his tenth goal of the career against Aston Villa. The backbone of the Chelsea team had an exceptional game and started to control the game after Aston Villa was in lead. He scored a penalty in
the 23rd minute. The power shot was hard to stop for the keeper.
Didier Drogba- 7:
Venomous striker proved his pedigree and scored the important equaliser. Drogba was a constant threat for the defenders and got numerous chances. Although he could not avail other chances but the one he scored in the 84th minute kept Chelsea in
hunt of points.
Florent Malouda- 7:
Frenchman Malouda is a permanent member in the team. With his pace and skill he is dangerous if left unmarked. Malouda had a respectable match against Aston Villa. He was the match winner for Chelsea in the midweek game and in this match he helped to win
a penalty for Chelsea.
Aston Villa
Brad Friedel- 8:
American star Friedel had a great night. Although Chelsea scored three goals but the amount of goals he saved were more than what the score line suggested. In certain situations, he was one on one with the Chelsea players and denied them to score. He had
almost judged the penalty right but the shot was too strong for his liking.
Ciaran Clark- 8:
Youngster Clark had one of the best games of this season. Unmarked in the additional minutes of the game, he asked for the ball and he got what he asked for. The cross was tailor made for him to pluck a point out of thin air. A nice chip landed on his head
and he made no mistake to beat the keeper to score an equaliser, in the dying minutes of the game.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ashley-Young-c6813- 8:
Ashley Young has played 141 games for Aston Villa and scored 26 goals for his club. The English international scored the first goal for his team when he converted a penalty into a goal. The cool and calmly taken penalty, in the 41st minute, kept
the visitors in the game.
Emile Heskey- 7.5:
English star Heskey made his presence felt in the box. He was quiet in the first half but roared after he scored an early goal in the second half. With his height, he was able to win a lot of headers and allotted defender Bruma, was unable to cope with his
physical presence.
