Players That Were/ Are Being Missed by Their Teams ( Part 1)
The Barclays Premier League, is quite arguably one of the best if not the best league in the world at the moment, however being the best League means that it also plays host to some of the most competitive football on display. As a result of being so challenging
the League has managed to take its toll on a number of players. Here is a look at some of those players who were forced to be sidelined but were missed by their teams to a great extent.
Wayne Rooney
The troublesome Manchester United striker was out of action for a month and in that month, United barely found the back of the net. In fact it seemed like the team was missing a whole dimension to their play. However ever since the player returned the team
and specially Dimitar Berbatov seemed to spring back into life. The striker who had not found the back of the net in ten outings for the team, managed to find in one game that he played with Rooney.
What this goes to show is that Rooney is worth much more to United then initially assumed. His presence is not only vital to the team but it also helps the players perform even better on an individual level.
Maroaune Fellaini
Everton who were once considered to be contenders to break into the top four have managed to struggle tremendously so far this season. The team just can’t seem to get it right and many have questioned David Moyes’ integrity. However it appears that the
team’s immediate problems lay in the absence of one player. That player happens to Maroanune Fellani.
Ever since the player managed to tear his hamstring, the player was forced to be sidelined almost immediately and as a result the Everton that managed to score three goals against United went to being the team that was heavily struggling to cope up in the
middle of the Premier League table.
Ledley King
Tottenham have done brilliantly in the last couple of weeks, to come back after going down a number of goals. Despite that being a brilliant ability, the question that comes to mind is, just why do Tottenham managed to concede so many goals in the first place.
The problem can be pinpointed down to the fact that the team’s back line has been fairly inconsistent over the course of the last few weeks. This was mainly down to the fact that the team’s best centre back, Ledley King was forced out of action for the last
couple of weeks. The player has been out of action after picking up a knock to his knee in mid October and ever since then Tottenham have managed to concede in almost every game. This just goes to show that Ledley King has a rather great presence on the team
and his absence is one that everyone at White Hart Lane is dreading.
Nigel Reo-Coker
With James Milner departing from Aston Villa, the team was lacking a solid central midfielder. Stan Petrov who was supposed to be the player to step into his shoes, seems to have run out of the steam that he was running on in the past and in turn Villa have
suffered tremendously. The team was looking to turn to their veteran midfielder Reo-Coker, for whom it would have and could have been the perfect opportunity to step back into the lime light. However a badly timed injury along with the influx of young players
at Villa Park has so far prevented any such occurrences from happening.
