Players request PCB to revise its schedule as Sri Lanka itinerary clashes with county Flt20 tournament
Pakistan players have reportedly requested the cricket board to revise its dates for the tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 in June-July this year as it clashes with the T20 league in England, and a number of player on central contracts have already committed to playing
in the lucrative league.
Well placed sources from inside the Pakistan Cricket Board revealed on Saturday that some players are keen to play in the Friend Life T20 tournament in England in July-August later this year, and have already confirmed their availability to their respective
counties. But some of the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755-Sri Lanka matches are clashing with the Twenty20 league, and the players are eager to play the lucrative league abroad.
"These players now want the Board to make minor changes to the tour itinerary for which the PCB has agreed to speak to the Sri Lankan board," a PCB source told the media reporters on Saturday.
A number of Pakistani players, 18, are presently in Bangladesh to play in their domestic Twenty20 league, the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757.
However, participation of 18 Pakistani players in a foreign league at a time when the domestic cricket season is on in the country has raised quite a few eyebrows in the media as well as with former players.
"The PCB doesn't appear to have a clear policy on giving NOCs to players to play in foreign leagues because it is only devaluing the Pentangular Cup by allowing so many players to go and play in the Bangladesh league at the same time," said a former Pakistani
Test player, Basit Ali.
The final of the Pentangular Cup is scheduled to be played between Sindh and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c749 in the UAE or playing in the BPL.
However, a senior PCB official downplayed the concerns saying that the players have the right to earn money by playing in lucrative leagues abroad and board does have any issue as long as players’ commitments do not clash with national commitments.
