Players that Manchester United should spend money on (Part 2)
Alexis Sanchez:
Sir Alex Ferguson has almost always managed to spot a winger, the one who has all the talent in the world but just needs some polishing. The case in point being the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Nani. The manager seems to be back at his best at spotting
super stars of the future as he is currently showing a lot of interest towards Udinese’s winger, Alexis Sanchez.
The player has been brilliant for the Italian side ever since joining them, but he seemed to pick up some of the best form of his life during 2010 FIFA World Cup. Sanchez, who is a Chilean international, emerged from the tournament as one of the best young
talents currently on display and even managed to have the most successfully completed dribbles. With the likes of Ronaldo and Lionel Messi also playing in the world cup, that is a rather outstanding feat for him to achieve.
The twenty two year old has lightning pace coupled with the ability to dribble the ball while running at full speed. He is a precision passer, who looks to set up players when he isn’t in a decent goal scoring position. He also seems to have been born with
the ability to run past defenders and leave them for dead.
Manchester United recently saw their winger Antonio Valencia suffer an ankle break, which ruled him out for most of the season. This means that United can make do with an ace winger during the January transfer window.
With Ferguson already having made comments like- "We have looked at Sanchez and he has impressed us. He can be an interesting project"- it is safe to say that Sanchez could well be on his way to Old Trafford during the winter transfer window.
Wesley Sneijder:
There is always one player that every team's fans would kill to see play for their side. That case is no different for the United fans, who have for a while now been trying to persuade the Manchester United manager to try and sign Wesley Sneijder to the
team.
This move would easily be a dream come true for most of the fans and quite possibly most of the players already on the team at the moment. Sneijder has recently stated his unhapiness at San Siro under Rafa Benitez as the new manager there has failed to fill
in the boots of outgoing Jose Mourinho. This transition of mangers has left the Dutch international quite unhappy and feeling like he can’t give his all to the team any longer.
Sneijder reclaimed limelight at the World Cup, where he tied as the highest scorer and even managed to help Holland all the way to the finals. Due to his superb run in, the player's price tag has inflated.
Despite this, Sneijder has hinted that if he was to get an offer to play for United, he wouldn’t hesitate to accept it. United could use some serious reinforcements in their midfield. They should consider the player's statements and try to lure him to Old
Trafford before someone else gets their hands on him.
If the move does happen to go through, it is safe to say it would be a dream come true for everyone involved apart from Inter Milan.
