Wilfried Bony, Alfred Finnbogason and Jeremain Lens have thus far shown sensational form on the pitch, and would be keen to impress throughout the season.
Dutch top flight has consistently produced superb talents, who left their authoritative stamps in almost all the top leagues in Europe. Some of them achieved breathtaking records while some of them taught many about how to play
the beautiful game with complete authority on the pitch.
At the end of every season since the introduction of Bosman ruling, almost all the top players leave their respective Dutch clubs for greener pastures, and this season seems no different.
Bettor.com takes a look at the top performers, who are likely to be leaving their respective clubs in the next year’s summer transfer window.
Wilfried Bony:
The 23-year-old Ivorian ace has been in phenomenal form since the start of the ongoing season. Netting an impressive 10 goals while setting up two more in nine Eredivisie matches, the Vitesse Arnhem talisman is currently the leading
goalscorer in the Dutch top tier.
The prolific hit-man has remained one of the most consist performers for the Arnhem outfit since last term, and has made him one of the top contenders for the Eredivisie golden boot this season.
Zenit St Petersburg, Anzhi Makhachkala, Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund are reportedly interest in signing the highly talented attacker, and it seems unlikely that the former Sparta Prague ace, who is regarded as the second most
lethal strikers in Cote d'Ivoire after Didier Drogba, would be plying his trade at GelreDome Stadion after the end of the ongoing season.
Alfred Finnbogason:
After the departure of Bas Dost from Heerenveen to VFL Wolfsburg, the Friesland-based club earmarked the Icelandic ace to fill in the void left with the departure of the Dutch striker.
The 23-year-old, who had been performing brilliantly at Helsingborgs on loan, has thus far performed impressively, and has shown that he can become of the finest strikers in the coming years.
Already grabbing six goals in seven league games, the talented attacker has already won the hearts of the Friesland outfit’s fans, who were upset at the departure of Dost earlier this summer.
Jeremain Lens:
One of the most imposing versatile attackers in the Dutch top flight, Lens has been making headlines for all the good reasons week in week out this term. Already netting three goals while setting up six more in nine league games,
the Dutchman has remained a constant menace for every opponent his side has thus far faced.
The 24-year-old is not only excelling while donning the jersey of the Eindhoven giants, he has also performed brilliantly during Netherlands’ 2014 World Cup qualifiers. The Dutchman netted three goals while provided three assists
as well to help the Oranje claim wins in all of their four games thus far in their quest to book a place at 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
Although, Lens has a contract at Philips Stadion that runs until the summer of 2015, it seems highly unlikely that he would be wearing PSV colours in the 2013/14 campaign.
