David Beckham, no doubt, had the best right foot in the game. But young Manchester City star, Adam Johnson, is even more entertaining.
The Former Middlesbrough man has great close control and has an even better final delivery along with a great burst of pace. Together these abilities make Adam Johnson a nightmare for any defense in the world.
In the 2009-10 season, Johnson was Middlesbrough's top scorer even though he had left the club in the January transfer window.
With Manchester City, Adam Johnson displayed spectacular performances and it was seen that the youngster could play in both the left and right wing. These performances earned him a national call and Adam Johnson was included in England's World cup squad,
but didn't make an appearance.
After the world cup debacle, Fabio Capello gave youngsters a chance for the upcoming Euro qualifiers and Johnson became a regular.
This season has seen Adam Johnson finding first team opportunities hard to come by, with Manchester City manager, Roberto Mancini, preferring to use the dynamic winger as a substitute so it might be possible that Adam Johnson puts in a transfer request in
order to get more game time at some other club, so that he doesn't fall out of favor for the England team under Fabio Capello.
Adam Johnson is still very young at 21 years old and all the signs are right that the Manchester City winger has what it takes to replace David Beckham.
Wayne Rooney
The Manchester United striker is going through a very difficult stage of his career both on and off the field but the 25 year old has a lot of time on his hands to turn things around at club and international level.
Before Wayne Rooney got injured against Bayern Munich in the Champions League semifinal, the striker was in top form and was scoring goals for fun and netted 34 goals for his club. But Rooney seemed like a man who was looking for something he lost when he
landed in South Africa with his national team.
Whether he admits it or not, Wayne Rooney had a breakdown after a 2 year spell with not much rest. Rooney is still to shine for his club this season but his current time away from football might just be what the 25 year old needs to get back to top form.
People argue that Rooney has never performed for his country like he has done for his club but they fail to notice that he is only 25 and will only get better as time goes on. He already has 26 goals to his name for England and he definitely has a shot at
being England's all-time leading goal scorer.
The transfer saga relating to the uncertainty surrounding his future at Manchester United was solved eventually and now Rooney seems to be getting back on track after a good rest and it might be good news for the England manager, Fabio Capello.
Rooney still has a lot of time left and he is mature beyond his years. He has taken a lot of responsibility for Manchester United so he might be another candidate who can replace David Beckham and the Manchester United striker.
