Players who could and should be on their way to the MLS
A couple of years ago David Beckham made his way to the MLS in what seemed to be the greatest thing that had happened to the World of football in America. And now Thierry Henry joins the New York Red Bulls, in a move that has managed to pave a route for numerous football players from across the globe to join the MLS, here’s a look at some players who should and could be on their way to the United States.
Ronaldhino, former world player of the year, World Cup winner, FIFA player of the year. He started his career at Germio then moved to PSG where he surprised everyone with his outstanding displays, day in and day out, which earned him a move to the Spanish giants, Barcelona.
At Barcelona Ronaldhino outshone everyone in the world, he won two La Liga’s,, two FIFA player of the year awards and a Champions league. However his career started going downhill near the end of 2006, this saw him move to AC Milan where he thought of rejuvenating his success.
That never happened and now Ronaldhino is available for a transfer, the best possible option for the player is to move to the MLS, he can hope to reignite his career and maybe even promote the sport in the region.
Fabio Aurelio was recently released from Liverpool. He’s a left back who can play anywhere on the left including the wing, he possesses the ability to hit a ball with such accuracy and power that any keeper would have a problem keeping it out. He is a utility player who could adopt to any team that signs him. He also possesses pace and a lethal free kick that dips and curves uncontrollably.
Liverpool fans were shocked with the team refusing to renew his contract but this might be a good thing for the player however. Considering he has hit the thirties, not many teams want to sign the player. He should possibly consider a move to the MLS since, he would be able to contest a spot for the national team and get in much more game time then he would get anywhere else.
Felipo Inzaghi, who has been a constant goal threat for AC Milan over the years, has past his prime. He is now used as a sub, but barely. A player of his caliber would not be satisfied with just a handful of appearances, however if he manages to move to the MLS he is bound to make way more appearances and maybe even come in the spotlight again.
Sol Campbell who has been strongly linked with a move away from Arsenal to various clubs including Celtic, would probably and should probably consider a move to the MLS instead. This would benefit his career significantly since he would be making way more in the United States then he would at any other club. This would also be another attraction for the MLS that is looking to increase its popularity in the country and internationally.
