Players who crossed double-digit scores at end of third round of World Cup
The 2011 FIVB Men’s Volleyball World Cup completed its third stage on Tuesday, November 29 in Japan. The men’s premier volleyball tournament is underway since November 20th and it is scheduled to December 4. Various Japanese cities served as hosts
in the first three rounds of the tournament. The final round will be played in Tokyo, Japan, from December 2 to 4. In the first three rounds, some amazing volleyball battles were staged on centre court. Volleyball enthusiasts from every nook and cranny enjoyed
the great action of volleyball and supported their favourite players and teams.
The athletes got a perfect chance to showcase their mesmerizing skills to the international audience. At the end of third round following fourteen players carved their names as triple-digit scorers:

Lasko Michal – Italy – 165 Hernandez Ramos Fernando – Cuba – 152 Mikhaylov Maxim – Russia – 141 Stanley Clayton – USA – 126 Abdelhay Ahmed – Egypt 121 Leon Venero Wilfredo – Cuba – 120 Shimizu Kunihiro – Japan – 115 Conte Facundo – Argentina – 110 Savani Cristian – Italy – 108 Miljkovic Ivan – Serbia – 108 Bartman Zbigniew – Poland – 106 Kurek Bartosz – Poalnd – 105 Anderson Matthew – USA – 102 Endres Murilo – Brazil – 102
Team Italia, which pulled off great success in the third round of the tournament, has two players with triple scores. Lasko Michal, the scoring machine of Italy, topped all the scorers with 165 points in three rounds of the tournament. Italy played its final
match of the third round against Argentina and bagged 3-1 victory. The crucial win was totally credited to Michal as he contributed 24 points, which played a big role in Italy’s success. Overall, Michal performed well and helped his team to overcome tough
rivals in the tournament. Likewise, his team-mate Savani Cristian followed him up with 108 points and got hold of 9th position.
Cuba had the second best-scorer of the tournament in the form of Hernandez Ramos Fernando. He is staying at number 2 with 152 points in total. Ramos occupied the top slot before the start of third round. However, the loss of important match to Russia in
the third round pushed Ramos one step down. Nonetheless, he has fair chance to cover up the deficit in the final round of the tournament. Another Cuban player, Leon Venero Wilfredo, is also placed in the top-10 scorers. He comes on number 6 and has accumulated
120 points.
Russia’s Maxim Mikhylov has firmly held the third spot on best-scorers’ chart. He scored 141 points in 8 matches of the tournament. He is the only Russian player with triple digit scores in the tournament so far. He is followed by American Stanley Clayton
who has contributed 126 points to his team. The fifth position is held by Egyptian Abdelhay Ahmed with 121 points.
The final round of the 2011 FIVB World Cup will get the green light on December 2 and once again players will get the chance to improve their records. The competition among first five positions is likely to be tough in the next round. Lasko Michal of Italy
is staying 10 points ahead of the second position holder. He is determined to finish the campaign with the title of top-scorer. Each team will appear in three matches and all the players will have equal chances to make their positions stronger. Let’s see who
