Players with putting issues on the PGA Tour – Part 2
Ricky Barnes, who plays on the PGA Tour, is known for his magnetic type of personality. The game experts believe that he can be a PGA star, if he had some bigger level of success during his career.
At times, he flashed his talent in some of the biggest events in the world of golf. However, his lack of consistency in putting never allowed him to end any campaign at the top of the leaderboard.
When it comes to the game on the fairways, he is regarded as one of the best iron-players on the PGA Tour. Moreover, his driving accuracy and ability to gain distance from the tee distinguishes him from his competitors.
However, if we talk about his short-game, he has never been able to prove his critics wrong and has always struggled to bring accuracy and correctly judge the distances on the greens.
The American currently ranks 173rd in putting per round on the PGA Tour. Such stats always restrain a player from earning a good share of potential earnings on the tour.
Robert Garrigus is another player who has a great potential of joining the ranks of good players on the PGA Tour.
During the 2012 golf season, he enjoyed a good time on the PGA Tour. He has pocketed around $2.8 million prize fund with the help of 7 top-10 finishes and 13 top-25 finishes this year.
Those statistics can definitely improve if he starts building confidence in his putting. The 34-year-old has worked on his short game in the past few months.
However, he still ranks 146th in putting per round, which definitely is not a good position to stay on.
Stewart Cink is another player who desperately needs to find his putting form, if he wants to make a comeback on the golfing scene. In 2009, he joined the league of the major golf championship winners by winning The Open Championship.
It was also his sixth victory on the prestigious PGA Tour. The major problem with him is that he has not tasted success since then.
During the Masters Tournament this season, he was pleased with his performance off the tee and on the fairways. However, his putting did not allow him to make a charge on the leaderboard and he finished tied for the 50th position.
Moreover, he has not recorded a single top-10 finish this season, which is not a good record from a player of his calibre.
He definitely has the ability to create birdie chances at every tournament that he plays. However, his poor putting does not allow him to capitalise on most of them.
He currently ranks 175th in birdies per round and desperately needs to improve the statistics, if he want to revive his winning form.
