Playfield Era and Alecs Blue conquer the two sessions of the BGRF Christmas Bonus Money Race at Henlow on 21st December
The 32nd Grade A2 BGRF Christmas Bonus Money Race and 33rd Grade A4 BGRF Christmas Bonus Money Race were hosted by Henlow on 21st December, 2011. The difference between the two races was that the caliber of the contestants,
prize money and the distance to be covered, was higher and lower as per the grades of the races.
The 32nd Grade A2 BGRF Christmas Bonus Money Race was raced over a distance of 460 metres and offered a prize money of £95, concluding in favour of the 2 to 1 favourite of the race, Playfield Era.
The three-year-old dog, out of Ace Hi Rumble and Playfield Spring, finished the race in 28.30 seconds.
This was the second victory posted by the S Fletcher trained hound after winning a Grade A2 race on 18th November, at Henlow.
The runner up of the race stood out to be K Taylor trained Savana Lucas, who covered the distance in 28.48 seconds. The third hound to follow in line behind the winner was Westmead Sula, under charge of Nick Savva, who covered the field in 28.60 seconds.
The fourth to bolt past the wire was Westmead Primus, another entry in the race by Nick Savva, making it to the other end in 28.76 seconds.
In the end, it was Droopys Cameo who finished last to complete the order of the race.
The £85 prize money for the 33rd Grade A4 BGRF Christmas Bonus Money Race, that was set to be run over a distance of 460 metres, was awarded to Alecs Blue, trained by C Grassco.
The winner made it to the wire in 28.56 seconds. The 7 to 4 favourite for the race left the hound following, Misty Blue, behind by a safe margin of four lengths.
Securing the third position in the race was Dooey Scolari, who rushed through the race track in 28.96 seconds. Rayne’s hound was then followed by Early Approach, clocking 29.02 seconds, and the last hound on the track, Delwood Christie, finished the race
in 29.10 seconds.
For Alecs Blue, the victory was a second feather in the cap after winning on 16th
December at Henlow, over a distance of 460 metres. A third success will entitle him for a hat trick.
