  1. i would not call chances are the other 9 people have ur other 2 aces. 4 people is to many in one pot to go all in there will be flush and straghit possbilities to plus u always get scrueddc with pocket aces

  2. if it's the first couple hands and the tourney has a significant buy in, no. i want to get a read on my opponents first.

also, if it's going to be your destiny to win this tourney, you are going to get many many good hands, and you can throw some away. if you have been card dead for hours, you have no choice but to go all in with any big pair.

if it's going to cost me less than half my stack, no problem. i might call with any suited ace.

    if i'm short stacked, sure.

if i'm on the bubble, it depends how much the bubble is worth.

  3. Is this pre-flop? What stage of the tourny are you in? How has the first all-in player been playing? What are the other three players calling with?

With four callers to an all-in bet I would probably call just because of the pot odds. You have to have your hands hold up to win the tourny. Your chances arent going to get much better pre-flop (im assuming) than aces.

  4. I call, even if it puts me all in!

Everytime, unless I am on the bubble for cash, then maybe not.

The pros always say to get all your chips in with the best hand, and then hope it holds up.

You are a favorite against any other hand on the table, and ZCTZ pointed out, you are a 56% favorite to win.

The risk is well worth the reward.

  5. Actually, I disagree with the first answer.

Statistically speaking, pocket aces win 56% of the time against random hands, when there are four opponents.  (See link)

Now the first all in could have a very marginal hand.  The second less so.  Anyone familiar with the gap principle would only call an all in bet, with a better than average hand (except in rare circumstances).  The third player is beginning to get some nice odds to call all in, but should still have a good hand.  The fourth player to call all in could have almost anything.

So we're back to the statistic I started with.  You win just over half the time.

On the up side, if you call and win, you are going to have a massive stack (assuming you weren't all short stacked).  This is going to give you a good chance to go a long way in the tournament.  On the other side of the coin, you call you lose.

What you have to decide is if you want to coin flip for a nice chip stack that should see you into the money.  Or if you would rather wait around and limp into the money.

I think I probably call here.  But where I do agree with the first answer, is there are a number of important variables missing from this question, that would push the decision one way or another.

  6. yep...i would call and take my chances.

  7. What are the blinds? How many chips do I have left vs avg stack, small stack, big stack? How many left in the tournament? Is this the final table? How many places pay?

Nowhere near enough info to give an intelligent answer.

Okay so you disagree....lets say we're on the bubble and all in stacks are close to even. Is this where you want to bust, just out of the money? With 4 players all in ahead of me I can assume that 1 or more will bust and we move into the money by folding. Any pro will tell you that situations determine how you play certain hands...ignore this fact if you want.
