Playing a graphics-intensive game on a lower rated card.?

I recently purchased a graphics intensive game,but when i got home,I realised it required a video card that i didn't have,i REALLY don't want to but a new video card just to play 1 game,is there a patch or program that would allow me to play it on a lower rated card?

Well it would depend. If your computer can RUN the game at all, you can try to tweak the game to the lowest possible settings, and search the web for "low res textures". If you're using a low end NVidia graphics and have an integrated GPU(graphics processing unit), then you might be able to take advantage of NVidia's HybridPower technology, which might give you just the pinch to run the game. Otherwise, the chance of running it is pretty slim. However, I would suggest you look into a new graphics, since the older NVidia GeForce 8800Gt is a very good card, and only sells for around $100 on Newegg.
