Playing a tab on the the electric guitar ( like i love you)?

ive been trying to play the song '' like i love - justin timberlake ''

on the my electric guitar but it just sounds weird even thought my guitar is on standard tuning, when i saw videos on youtube, most people are playing tht song with an acoustic, so is it impossible to play that song with the electric guitar or its just me?

electric and acoustic guitars are the same maybe you should listen to the song and try playing the song together with you playing the guitar it could take a lot of practice but im sure you'll be able to do it with practice
